Ending of I

I share my heart with the world
My heart, my hurt
Notabang,awhimper. eversoquietly
Leaves black and brown and dying
Rock and concrete and iron crumbling

Entropy's illimitable dominion over all
Duly stamped, approved, and ordained
By the grey bureaucrats of time
Without a whiff of Poe or tragedy

The iron sky is a close, dull mirror
It too crumbling like all else. And
poetry stops making sense, and

And prose and life and love and
laughter at last. Quietly
